Exploring the War on Poverty: A High School History Project
Welcome to our exciting new project at Griffith High School, where our US History students will dive deep into one of the most significant social reform efforts in American history: President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty. Designed by Mr. Swisher, this interdisciplinary project combines historical research with mathematical data analysis, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the socioeconomic challenges of the 1960s and the policies implemented to address them.
Project Overview
Objective: The goal of this project is for students to explore the historical context, data, and outcomes of the War on Poverty. By engaging in this exploration, they will not only learn about history but also develop their skills in data analysis and policy evaluation. Ultimately, students will present their findings and propose their own policy recommendations.
